Consider what Mormons believe about Jesus Christ as taught by their leaders –
“He is the first of the human family; and when he took a tabernacle (Body), it was begotten by his Father in heaven, after the same manner as the tabernacles of Cain, Abel and the rest of the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve; from the fruits of the earth, the first earthly tabernacles were originated by the Father and son in succession…..Jesus, our elder brother, was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven” (Journal of Discourses, 1:50-51)
Some of the teachings of the Mormons from diverse sources include the following. My conscience doesn’t allow me to call them facts:
- Adam is Michael the archangel.
- The Virgin Mary conceived the child Jesus, not of the Holy Ghost but begotten by the Father in His own likeness.
- His (Jesus) body (tabernacle) was begotten by the Father after the same manner as the tabernacle of Cain, Abel, etc. (implying that Jesus’ body was through sexual intercourse)
I was born in an era wherein my country, the Philippines, is under the influence of the Americans. Maybe because of this, I grew up with high respect for Americans. Their products are far more excellent than any product that comes from other countries of the world. I remember in my youth nibbling delicious American chocolates like Horlicks and Kisses. My favorite snack was a sandwich with Kingan’s, a brand of liver spread made in America. I’m amazed by everything that carries with it the phrase “Made in U.S.A.”
I wonder why such an amazingly intelligent people accept the lies in religion invented by Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and their cohorts! The Bible tells us the reason.
I CORINTHIANS 1:20-21
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
I was humiliated very recently by woman in Columbia saying among others that the reason why I am preaching in their country is that my country (the Philippines) is poor and my only intention is to get the money of the Columbians. Thank God not all Columbians believe the same! We have at present many adherents in Columbia including lawyers and highly educated people.
The biblical fact is:
PROVERBS 28:11
The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
I am poor but I thank God endlessly for the understanding and wisdom He has given me! Let us discover the amazing wisdom God has imparted to the poor!
1. ADAM CAME INTO THE GARDEN OF EDEN WITH A CELESTIAL BODY
This doctrine is inane, insane! In the Bible the body of Adam was taken out of the dust of the ground, it was never a celestial body!
GENESIS 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
This truth was revealed by the real God to Adam.
GENESIS 3:19
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
The same truth was affirmed by the Apostle Paul in the New Testament.
I CORINTHIANS 15:45-47
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
The body of the Lord from heaven – that of the Lord Jesus Christ – in coming to earth, was prepared by the Father here on earth, not in heaven! The body was conceived by Mary and was mortal.
HEBREWS 10:5
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Note the phrase, “He commeth into the world,” implying that He came from above – from heaven.
JOHN 6:38
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
The body that was prepared for Him by the Father is mortal because it was intended to fulfill God’s will, and that will is to offer that body as a sacrifice for sins.
HEBREWS 10:10, 12
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;
The body of Christ being without sin is mortal, please keep that in mind.
HEBREWS 2:14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
That body of flesh and blood He offered as a sacrifice for sins is mortal and was prepared by God on earth in the womb of Mary. That same body was changed into an immortal body after His resurrection from the dead.
PHILIPPIANS 3:20-21
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.REVELATION 1:18
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
The biblical process of perfection is from mortal to immortal – not from immortal to mortal. Mormons say that Adam came to Eden with a celestial body (implying the body is immortal) and then it became mortal when he ate the forbidden fruit!
“When Adam and Eve had eaten of the forbidden fruit, their bodies became mortal from its effects, and therefore their offspring were mortal.” (Journal of Discourses 1:51, Brigham Young, April 9, 1852).
A revelation received by the Apostle Paul further proves the fallacy of this Mormon doctrine! A body of flesh and bones cannot enter or inherit the kingdom of God, so how can it be possible that such body will come from heaven and then brought to earth?
I CORINTHIANS 15:50-52
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
When it comes to the forbidden fruit, wasn’t God the one who commanded Adam not to eat of such fruit? How could God be Adam himself? If Adam was God himself, do Mormons mean to say that Adam or God is disobedient to Himself?!
2. ADAM BROUGHT WITH HIM EVE, ONE OF HIS MANY WIVES, WHEN HE CAME TO EDEN.
This doctrine is false. Adam did not come to Eden; he was placed there by God.
GENESIS 2:15
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
There is no inspired scripture that tells us that God nor Adam has many wives like Joseph Smith and Brigham Young!
Adam, though he was a transgressor, was not as Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. Maybe Adam remembered what God has pronounced in Eden.
MATTHEW 19:4-6
4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh
6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
The twain shall be one flesh. There was never a third party between Adam and Eve – nor a fourth, nor a fifth, and so on!
GENESIS 3:20
And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Eve was the only wife of Adam!
If there ever was another woman in the entire life of Adam, then what is recorded in Genesis 3:20 saying that “she” (Eve) was the mother of all living, would be wrong! The reason why the word of God tells us that Eve was the mother of all living is that all human beings that were born of Adam were born thru Eve, his only wife!
The intention of this invented “Adam has many wives” doctrine of the Mormons is apparently to cover up for the many wives of Mormon leaders from Smith and Young, thereby saying that Eve was one of the wives of Adam which he brought when he came to the garden of Eden.
