July 14, 2017 (Smart-Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City) — After helping establish a foundation that will provide medical assistance for former professional basketball players in the country, the Ang Dating Daan radio-television host is eyeing the creation of a foundation for the underappreciated labor group in society.
Bro. Eli Soriano, Overall Servant to the Members Church of God International (MCGI), announced that the plan to create a foundation for the small-time members of the labor force is both his and Kuya Daniel Razon’s idea.
“Isa po sa aming plano ng Kapatid na Daniel ay ang magtayo ng foundation para sa lahat ng empleyado ng gobyerno na may maliliit na mga tungkulin, yung mga janitor o yung mga naglilinis sa Senate, sa Malacanang, at iba pa na mga kababayan natin na hindi naman opisyal pero katulong sila ng gobyerno” Bro. Eli said through live video conferencing that was heard by the tens of thousands supporters of the charity basketball game in Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
As part of his closing remarks during the UNTV Cup Off-Season Executive Face-Off Finals on July 10, the International Televangelist would also like to include as beneficiaries of the planned foundation teachers and justices who really served the country well but due to certain unforeseen difficult circumstances became poor.
“Sila ang aking naiisip na maging mga beneficiaries at sana ng iba pang proyekto ng UNTV at umaasa po kami sa patuloy ninyong pagtulong,” he further said.

Meanwhile, the Samahan ng mga Dating Propesyonal na Basketbolista sa Pilipinas received a P1-million seed fund from UNTV Cup and Bro. Eli who has been very supportive of UNTV Cup and its other projects.
The foundation, a realization made possible through Kuya Daniel’s encouragement and able support, will benefit retired basketball athletes in need of medical assistance.
The AFP Cavaliers scooped the championship title that came with P1-million cash prize for the Educational Benefit System Office (EBSO), the team’s chosen charity.
EBSO is a scholarship program for the children of soldiers killed or wounded in the line of duty.
The second runner-up winners are PNP Responders, who took home P500,000 for the aggrieved loved ones of the policemen who were killed in Marawi City.
UNTV Cup is a charity basketball league comprised of teams from all the three branches of government. An original concept of the BMPI-UNTV President and CEO, the basketball league for charities was established in 2013 and will have another run, its 6th season, later this year.

The International Televangelist also appealed for continued support to the charity basketball league and other projects of UNTV.
“Alam ko po na mayroon kayong puso na makatulong sa kapwa, diwa po yan ng Panginoon,” Bro. Eli said, citing the book of Galatians 6:10 in the Bible.
For the high-ranking government officials he called as “Heroes of the Republic of the Philippines”, Bro. Eli said that their participation is highly appreciated.
The televangelist-host acknowledged the presence of PNP Gen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, Police Deputy Director Gen. Ramon Apolinario, Court Administrator Hon. Midas Marquez, Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara.
“Despite your respective positions in government, you still have the will to help other people, hindi kagaya nung iba na puro sarili lang ang tinutulungan,” he said.
