Recently unveiling his official YouTube channel – BroEli Channel – international evangelist Bro. Eli Soriano continues to find ways to intensify the propagation of God’s words online.
Through the BroEli Channel on YouTube, Bro Eli shares his trademark biblical answers to people’s questions about religion, spirituality, religious practices, salvation, and more in short video format.
Especially since most countries are still on lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, people are in their homes and spending much time on the World Wide Web. And with YouTube having over two billion users, Bro. Eli hopes to bring God’s teachings to more people using the platform.
The Old Path Online: A Lookback
From radio and television to computer and tablet screens — Bro. Eli’s propagation of the Gospel has come a long way since 1980 when Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) debuted as a 30-minute radio show.
Since the year 2000, Members Church of God International Overall Servants Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon have already been using digital technology to reach out to a wider audience via www.angdatingdaan.org.
The following year, the program launched its test streaming site SBN21.dhs.org, and avid audiences of the international evangelist’s religious program were able to watch it online.
Come 2002, webtv.angdatingdaan.net debuted as the dedicated web platform for the 24-hour streaming of the program and video archives of content.
Now, apart from English, MCGI’s flagship program also airs in Spanish (El Camino Antiguo) and Portuguese (O Caminho Antigo) 24/7 via satellite.
The Old Path also uses the streaming services of YouTube and of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for its regular Bible Studies and Bible Expositions, which are translated into a variety of languages.
“In our desire to reach our fellowmen before the end comes, we use this means, technology,” Bro. Eli said in one of his Live Bible Expositions online.
Recently, the program also began broadcasting online in languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Nepali, French, German, and Bahasa Melayu on their respective YouTube channels.
The Live Mass Indoctrination Sessions of MCGI also streamed for the first time in the Philippines in June 2020. Previously, the sessions were only held in MCGI coordinating centers. However, Bro. Eli brought the service online in his desire to make the learning of Christ’s doctrines easily accessible to the public during lockdown.
Meanwhile, in October 2019, The Old Path launched on Spotify, a popular music streaming and media service provider with almost 300 million users to-date, a podcast wherein Bro. Eli also tackles various biblical topics.
Bro. Eli’s Biblical Q&A Format
Bro. Eli Soriano has been preaching the words of God for 56 years now.
Over the years, he became prominent in the Philippines through his Bible Expositions and Biblia Ang Sasagot, Itanong Mo Kay Soriano (The Bible Will Answer. Ask Bro. Eli) program wherein everyone, regardless of their religion, is welcome to ask questions about faith and spirituality and hear the answers from the Bible read to them by Bro. Eli right on the spot.
