‘Salvation is in the Gospel, the one which Christ taught, because Christ is the savior,’ began Bro Eli as he went on to answer a familiar question asked of him in one of his regular biblical symposiums in the Philippines.
In last February’s Worldwide Bible Exposition hosted by Bro Eli, the televangelist debunked the belief of other religious communities and groups that miracles are the basis of salvation.
A guest who graced the Bible Exposition in Odiongan, Romblon had inquired, “Where can I get salvation?” to which Bro Eli explained that many are misled in believing in religions which only look good and boast supernatural occurrences.
Bro. Eli, who is the host of The Old Path (Ang Dating Daan), cited I Corinthians 15:1-2 which reads: “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.”
To Learn then Follow

Bro. Eli said that true salvation is found in the Gospel, and it is important to follow it in its entirety.
He used the example of Paul in the Bible, who said in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
The televangelist had earlier during the event explained the importance of understanding and full acceptance of the Gospel before getting baptized into the Church.
In Acts 8:27-37 was told the story of the eunuch baptized by Philip. Bro Eli emphasized that teaching or “indoctrinating” came first before he was baptized.
Throughout the night, there was great emphasis to guard against false religions. “There are religions,” Bro Eli said, “which teach the laws of men, and even seek evil spirits.” (Deuteronomy 18:10)
He also raised that those who consult the dead do not actually speak to dead men but to evil spirits.
More Questions – Answered!

Many other inquiries were brought up and answered during the Bible Exposition. Some brought up issues like worship of graven image, religion that can guarantee salvation, bringing up stubborn children, prayer, the creation of man, cults, among others.
It was held in over a thousand Ang Dating Daan Locales all over the world and broadcast through Facebook Live and the official YouTube channel of the program.
Bro Eli responded to eight questions from Bahrain, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The hashtag #ADDLiveBibleExpo that promoted the event headlined Philippine trends all evening on February 10.
