The Old Path program host Bro. Eli Soriano recently launched an online initiative where anyone around the world can pray to God at the same time starting May 25, 2020, at 9:30 am EST on weekdays.
“I want to invite you to join us in a minute of prayer every day to pray for humanity and the whole world as we go through these perilous times,” the 73-year-old international televangelist stated in the video below for the said initiative.
Beyond religious differences and geographical distances, Bro. Eli further said that this Global Prayer For Humanity service is open to all via the following platforms:
- Facebook: www.facebook.com/MCGIGlobalPrayer
- YouTube: bit.ly/MCGIGlobalPrayerYouTube
- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mcgiglobalprayer
- Twitter: https://twitter.com/mcgiprayer
“It doesn’t matter what religion you are in or what denomination you belong to,” he said.
“This is an invitation for all the people around the world who care for the future of their family, friends, loved ones, and humanity as a whole. Everybody is welcome to pray with us.”
Calling upon God and resting our hope in Him, especially with the uncertainties brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic to the world, is the best thing to do, wrote Bro. Eli on his blog.
While a vaccine for COVID-19 remains under development, Bro. Eli believes that God is the One who heals, as it is written in Exodus 15:26.
“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.” (King James Version)
The Members Church of God International or MCGI, where Bro. Eli is the Overall Servant, has been conducting community prayers since 2013, in accordance with what the Apostle Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
“Pray without ceasing.” (King James Version)
MCGI’s Community Prayer aims to bring people closer to God and to highlight the importance of talking to Him in our daily lives.
With the many difficult things that humanity now faces, Bro. Eli is more intent in inspiring more people globally to give a minute or two of their day to say a little prayer for all.
“There is still no precaution or cure more powerful than God’s mighty intervention. And we need His intervention now more than ever.”
