There are those that preach Christ out of envy and contention.
(Phillipians 1:15-17 MKJV) “Some indeed even preach Christ because of envy and strife, and some also of good will. Those, indeed, preach Christ out of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds. But these others preach in love, knowing that I am set for the defense of the gospel.”
If there is both an intent and will to preach, they must come from God.
(Phillipians 2:13) “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good purpose.”
To preach the Godly way is to preach and speak in a manner that God wants a preacher to speak.
(I Thessalonians 2:3-6) “For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness: Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.”
Chances are, in preaching the truth, a preacher sent by God may unwittingly make enemies.
(Galatians 4:16) “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”
But whatever the consequences may be, a faithful preacher will preach the truth and nothing but the truth.
(The Acts 20:24) “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”
Frankness and boldness are qualities unappreciated by many in a true preacher!
(The Acts 4:13) “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”
Since my childhood, I have tried my best to please as much people as possible. I was loved as a son, as a brother, as a classmate, as a friend, and as a student to my mentors. But when I started preaching the Gospel, I was hated, humiliated, charged maliciously, beaten physically and maligned by almost all sectors of human society, save those who believe in God and in the Gospel that I preach.
Once, I was hospitalized for almost a week after a debate wherein I took the stand that Jesus Christ is God. Here is a doctor’s certificate:
(Galatians 1:10-12) “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither
was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Experiencing such extraordinary treatment from those who are enemies of the Gospel is not very easy to bear, but I delight in recalling the word of the Lord Jesus Christ that says:
(Matthew 5:11) “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.”
TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY AND THE HONOR FOREVER!!!
I am not competing with anybody when I say that Peter is not the rock but the Lord Jesus Christ.
